Ingredientes

  • 1 libra carne de res molida (90% magro)
  • 1 cebolla grande picada
  • 1/4 taza azúcar moreno
  • 1/2 taza catsup
  • 2 cucharadas vinagre
  • 1/2 cucharadita pimienta negra
  • 2 tazas frijoles rojos cocinados (o una lata de 15 onzas de frijoles enlatados, bajo en sodio)
  • 1 lata frijoles con puerco (16 onzas)
  • 2 tazas frijoles blancos cocidos (tata de 15 onzas baja en sodio)

Preparación

  1. Lávese las manos con agua y jabón.
  2. Cocine la carne molida de res y las cebollas. Drene la grasa.
  3. Agregue el resto de los ingredientes y mezcle.
  4. Coloque en una cacerola.
  5. Cocine en el horno a 350ºF durante 1 hora.

We agreed with another commenter, that this recipe is a little too bland. We added fresh garlic, a diced jalapeno pepper and 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric, which perked it up wonderfully!

I made this with dried beans (15 bean) and added garlic, worchester sauce, and a cayenne pepper. It was much more flavorful and I don't think I added much caloriewise. (You have to soak the beans overnight first though.)
