If you are of legal age and desire to drink alcohol, do so in moderation – up to 1 drink per day for women and up to 2 drinks per day for men. Use the resources available from the National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Addiction to help you make decisions about drinking alcohol, including Rethinking Drinking: Alcohol and Your Health.

Caffeine occurs naturally in coffee, tea, or cocoa and is sometimes added to food and beverage products, such as sodas or energy drinks. Caffeine must be listed as an ingredient on the label if it is added to beverages. Foods and beverages with caffeine can be part of a healthy eating style, but think about the calories these foods and beverages contain. Add fat-free or low-fat milk to your coffee or tea instead of cream, flavored creamers, sugars, or syrups.
