Start Simple with MyPlate “Challenge”

To kick off our Start Simple with MyPlate campaign, we invite you to join us in our #MyPlateChallenge!

Share your healthy eating tips or ideas related to the five MyPlate food groups. Post your MyPlate inspired healthy eating tip with a photo or video and share it on your social media accounts. Once you post your healthy eating tip, challenge a family member, friend or co-worker to share their own healthy eating tip.

Join us as we celebrate the different ways people strive to eat more healthfully and Start Simple with MyPlate
 

How to participate:

  1. Think of a simple thing you do to eat healthier in your everyday life ​

    • We encourage you to share a healthy eating tip that helps you meet the MyPlate Food Group goals: ​

      1. Make half your plate fruits and vegetables.

        • ​Focus on whole fruits.
        • Vary your veggies.
      2. Make half your grains whole grains.
      3. Move to low-fat or fat-free milk or yogurt.
      4. Vary your protein routine.
      5. Drink and eat less sodium, saturated fat and added sugars.
         
  2. Share your MyPlate healthy eating idea on social media– show us what you do to eat healthy!

    • Use the hashtags: #StartSimplewithMyPlate and #MyPlateChallenge

  3. Tag a family member, friend, or co-worker and ask them to share how they meet their MyPlate Food Group goals and eat healthy. For example, “I challenge Jackie to share your MyPlate healthy eating idea.”
     
  4. Got another idea? Share more! Feel free to share as many MyPlate healthy eating ideas as you want. Don’t forget to tag a friend, tag MyPlate and use the hashtags #StartSimplewithMyPlate and #MyPlateChallenge.
